Abstract

Pipeline have a probability of failure to be considered by inspection method based on risk. RBI Method is a one of inspection method based on risk level of equipments or industrial work unit. Risk Based Inspection (RBI) method use two parameter combination for determining level of risk for industrial equipments are failure possibility and failure consequence. A case study using RBI method of risk determination is done for the pipeline system at PT. Javagas Pipeline. The Probability of failure was then estimated by using Monte Carlo simulation to determine that risk. Semi-quantitative RBI methods was applied for the pipeline segment resulting in the following 1-9 High (5D), 10-25 Medium High (4D), 26-50 Medium (2D). From the risk rank an effective inspection method as Ultrasonic Straight Beam, Radiography, and Visual Testing with frequency every 1 year (High), 2 years (Medium High), and 25 years (Medium) are recommended.
