Abstract

Penggunaan angkutan umum, terutama Angkutan Kota dan Bus Kota di Surabaya, dinilai sangat penting karena dapat menjangkau berbagai fasilitas publik secara langsung. Angkutan Kota merupakan salah satu bentuk alat transportasi publik yang menggunakan kendaraan kecil. Pengguna jasa Angkutan Kota sebagian besar adalah golongan masyarakat ekonomi menengah ke bawah yang tidak mempunyai kendaraan pribadi dan masih awam terhadap kondisi lalu lintas Kota Surabaya. Padahal, dalam aktivitas sehari-harinya, mereka berhubungan dengan kondisi lalu lintas tersebut. Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) merupakan suatu sistem berbasis komputer yang digunakan untuk menyimpan dan memanipulasi informasi-informasi geografis. SIG dirancang untuk mengumpulkan, menyimpan, dan menganalisis objek-objek atau fenomena-fenomena di mana lokasi geografis merupakan karakteristik yang penting untuk dianalisis. SIG diperlukan untuk memudahkan penyampaian informasi tentang jalur angkutan umum, jangkauan trayek, maupun fasilitas umum yang dilalui oleh angkutan umum Kota Surabaya. Pengembangan SIG ini ditujukan kepada masyarakat umum yang dalam kesehariannya menggunakan jasa angkutan umum untuk kegiatan transportasi intrakota, khususnya masyarakat yang baru pertama kali datang ke Kota Surabaya. Pengembangan SIG ini didesain secara interaktif, sederhana, dan mudah digunakan (easy to use), dengan maksud supaya program ini nantinya dapat bermanfaat bagi sistem transportasi angkutan umum di Kota Surabaya.

The useful of public transportation especially City Transportation and City Bus in Surabaya are valuable very important because can reach out for any public facility directly. The City Transportation is one of type of tool public transportation which use small vehicle. The user of City Transportation is almost society with middle economy until low economy who doesn’t have private vehicle and also still doesn’t usual with traffic condition in Surabaya, while the daily activity always related with the traffic condition. Geographic Information System (GIS) is system (computer based) is used for saving and manipulate geographic information-information. GIS designed for collecting, saving and analyzing object-object or phenomena-phenomena where geographic location is the important characteristic for analysed. GIS is needed for sending information about tracking public transportation, tracking reach out, also public facility which to pass by public transportation Surabaya City. This GIS development is proposed for public society which in them daily always uses services of public transportation for transportation activity intern city especially society who just arrive first time in Surabaya. The GIS development is designed interactively, simple, and easy usefully in order to propose this program become useful for public transportation system in Surabaya city.
