Abstract

Peta merupakan gambaran wilayah geografis bagian permukaan bumi. Peta bisa disajikan dalam berbagai cara yang berbeda, mulai dari peta konvensional yang tercetak hingga peta digital yang tampil di layar komputer. Peta dapat menunjukkan berbagai informasi penting di dalamnya sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Perkembangan teknologi komputer dengan berbagai macam perangkat lunak (software) saat ini telah mampu menampilkan suatu bentuk visualisasi peta 3 dimensi (3D) secara realistis. Selama ini bentuk visualisasi dalam kartografi dari data spasial cenderung hanya dalam pemodelan peta 2 dimensi (2D) saja. Untuk dapat membuat lebih menarik dan informatif maka dibuat peta yang menyerupai keadaan real (sebenarnya) berupa peta 3 dimensi (3D). Sebuah model tiga dimensi peta memberikan kemudahan bagi pengguna untuk memilih posisi virtual dalam peta, keakuratan yang lebih baik dalam memahami dan menginterpretasi peta. Wilayah kampus ITS merupakan suatu wilayah yang memiliki objek fisik seperti bangunan yang bervariatif namun hanya memiliki peta yang masih dalam bentuk 2 dimensi (2D). Untuk menampilkan bentuk yang lebih perspektif dan dapat memperlihatkan bentuk secara real sehingga dapat memberikan informasi dari bangunan fisik yang ada maka dibuat bentuk visualisasi secara 3 dimensi (3D). Terdapat beberapa tahapan dalam proses pembuatan peta 3 dimensi (3D) kampus ITS ini yaitu pengumpulan data, penggambaran bentuk dengan menggunakan software Autocad Land Desktop 2009, pemberian aspek kartografi pada peta menggunakan software Google Sketch Up 7, meliputi pengaturan warna, penentuan simbol, ukuran, muka peta dan aspek kartografis lainnya, kemudian pencetakan hasil peta. Dari pembuatan peta 3 dimensi diperoleh hasil peta 3 dimensi (3D) kampus ITS yang sesuai dengan keadaan real (nyata) di permukaan bumi. Peta 3 dimensi (3D) yang dibuat sudah dapat menghasilkan data dan informasi geografis yang up to date (terbaru) mengenai kondisi bangunan fisik (gedung, jalan) maupun bangunan-bangunan terbaru lainnya dan terkait dengan validitas data. Peta 3 dimensi (3D) ini juga sebagai media yang menarik, mudah interpretasi (dimengerti) oleh penggunanya serta dapat dijadikan referensi peta kampus yang efektif dan user friendly.

Map is a description of the geographic area earth surface. Maps can be presented in various different ways, ranging from the conventional printed maps to digital maps that appear on a computer screen. Map can show a variety of important information in accordance with user needs. The development of computer technology with a range of software at this time has been able to show a form of 3D realistic map visualization. During this form of visualization in cartography of spatial data tend to be only in modeling 2-dimensional (2D) map only. To be able to create more interesting and informative then created a map that resembles the real (actual) form 3D maps. A model three-dimensional map made it easier for users to choose the position in the virtual map, the accuracy is better to understand and interpret. Campus ITS region is an area that has a physical object such as a various building but only has a map that is still in the form of a 2D. To show the form of a more perspective and can reveal the real form so that it can provide information from the physical building of the made the visualization of 3D. There are several stages in the process of mapping 3-dimensional (3D) of the campus ITS data collection, using a depiction of software Autocad Land Desktop 2009, the aspects of cartography on the map using the software Google SketchUp 7, including color settings, determining the symbol, size, face maps and other aspects cartography, and then printing the map results. The results of the 3-dimensional map obtained the 3D ITS campus in accordance with the real on earth surface. 3D Maps which has been made can result in data and geographic information up to date (the latest) on the physical condition of the building and the latest related to the validity of data. 3D Maps as the media is also an interesting, easy interpretation (understood) by the user and can be used as a reference map of the campus that is effective and user friendly.
