Abstract

Among the various sectors that potentially contribute to urban air pollution, the transportation sector plays a significant role. Numerous studies have been conducted to determine the levels of pollutants such as CO, NOx, SOx, and Pb on different types of roads (Hermana, 2003). However, the contribution of each vehicle type to air pollution, as well as the prediction of pollution levels affecting ambient air quality, cannot be determined without information on traffic volume. Meanwhile, such predictions are needed as a tool to assess the impacts analyzed during an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study. The analysis was conducted using regression analysis. The case studies covered RE Martadinata Road, Yos Sudarso Road, Harun Tohir Road, and the access road to Gresik Port, all located in Gresik, as well as North Sungai Selogiri Road, South Sungai Selogiri Road, Hotel Ketapang Indah Road, and the access road to Tanjung Wangi Port, all located in Banyuwangi. The results yielded the following models: CO = 2.070 − 0.002MC + 0.002HV + 0.000LV (R² = 20.3%), NOx = 3.444 × 10⁻² − 1.64 × 10⁻⁵MC + 1.635 × 10⁻⁵HV + 5.628 × 10⁻⁵LV (R² = 17.6%), and SO₂ = 1.664 × 10⁻⁴ − 0.618 × 10⁻⁸MC + 4.3 × 10⁻⁸HV + 1.794 × 10⁻⁵LV (R² = 18%). Meanwhile, a model for predicting Pb pollution levels could not be developed due to limited data.
