Abstract

Teknologi berkembang pesat seiring dengan dimulainya era globalisasi. Perkembangan inovasi teknologi tersebut juga terlihat pada alat berat yang digunakan dalam proyek konstruksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi perkembangan alat berat pemindah tanah dari tahun 1990 hingga 2005, mengetahui produktivitas alat berat yang mengalami perkembangan atau inovasi terbaru dibandingkan dengan alat berat generasi sebelumnya, serta mengetahui apakah perkembangan alat berat pemindah tanah tersebut dapat mengurangi biaya dan waktu pelaksanaan proyek dibandingkan dengan penggunaan alat berat generasi sebelumnya. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi hasil kuesioner, studi literatur, dan spesifikasi teknis alat berat. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan analisis frekuensi dan analisis deskriptif untuk mengetahui jumlah jawaban serta kecenderungan jawaban responden mengenai manfaat yang dapat diperoleh dari perkembangan alat berat. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa alat berat yang mengalami perkembangan atau inovasi terbaru dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dalam pelaksanaan aktivitas proyek. Namun, hasil analisis kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa tidak semua responden berpendapat bahwa perkembangan atau inovasi terbaru alat berat dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dalam suatu proyek. Berdasarkan sudut pandang distributor alat berat, manfaat perkembangan atau inovasi terbaru meliputi percepatan waktu pelaksanaan proyek serta peningkatan mutu alat berat dalam aspek serviceability dan durability. Dari sudut pandang kontraktor alat berat, inovasi dapat meningkatkan mutu alat berat dalam aspek serviceability dan durability. Sementara itu, dari sudut pandang kontraktor umum, perkembangan atau inovasi terbaru alat berat dapat mempersingkat waktu pelaksanaan proyek sehingga biaya yang dikeluarkan dapat dihemat.

The technology sector is developing rapidly with the advent of the globalization era. Technological innovations are also evident in the heavy equipment used in construction projects. This study aims to identify the development of earthmoving equipment from 1990 to 2005, examine the productivity of newly developed or innovative equipment compared with older equipment, and determine whether these developments can reduce project costs and execution time compared with the use of older earthmoving equipment. The data used in this study were obtained from questionnaires, a literature review, and technical specifications of heavy equipment. Data analysis was conducted using frequency analysis and descriptive analysis to determine the number of responses and identify response trends regarding the benefits of heavy equipment development. The identification results indicate that developments and innovations in heavy equipment can increase productivity in project activities. However, the questionnaire analysis shows that not all respondents agree that the development or innovation of heavy equipment can improve equipment productivity in a project. From the perspective of heavy equipment distributors, the benefits of recent developments and innovations include shorter project execution times and improved equipment quality in terms of serviceability and durability. From the perspective of heavy equipment contractors, innovation can improve equipment quality in terms of serviceability and durability. Meanwhile, from the perspective of general contractors, the development and innovation of heavy equipment can shorten project execution time, thereby reducing project costs.
