Abstract

This research goals are to find out conclusion about structure durability geo-polymer concrete that use the benefit of fly Ash as admixture mineral in aggressive environment. Where, problem in geo-polymer concrete developed to as conventional concrete solution that could be thrashing on our life mainly because exhausted \(\text{CO}_{2}\) gas.
To figure out the penetrated velocity ion Chloride in geo-polymer concrete by acceleration method, we will perform some test for materials and some exercise for concrete. Concrete mix design is according to ratio \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 1.5\) and \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 2\). The activator is \(\text{NaOH}\) 8 M and 10 M.
A test concrete characteristic is strong press test, porosity test, and permeability test. A penetrated velocity test ion chloride \((\text{Cl}^-)\) on the concrete using accelerated method, with ASTM C-1202 standard. The test goals then calculate concrete resistant for ion chlorides flow between 2 compartment that consist of \(\text{NaCl}\) and \(\text{NaOH}\) solution, which accelerated by electricity current. In this study, we use electricity current at 40 V, 50 V, and 60 V.
This material experiment is accordance with tests parameter. The strong press test of concrete is 24 pieces of cylinder \(\phi \) 10.20 cm. However, for penetration, permeability and porosity is 120 pieces of cylinder \(\phi \) 10.5 cm, which sliced from cylinder \(\phi \) 10.20 cm to be 3 pieces. Therefore, overall total of experiment material is 64 pieces in \(\phi \) 10.20 cm.
Experiment result shows that strong press test will lift concrete life span from 28 days become 91 days, with the highest Geo-polymer concrete achieved at 8 M concentration at \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 1.5\) comparison of \(\text{NaOH}\) in 91 days. That mean, the higher concentration of activator and comparison of \(\frac{\text{Na}_{2}\text{SiO}_{3}}{\text{NaOH}}\) will make concrete press strength become lower or optimum point occurred.
For porosity test of geo-polymer concrete with comparison mass of \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 1.5\) there are smaller percentage porosity, if it compared with \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 2\). Open porosity test for geo-polymer concrete in solute of \(\text{NaOH}\) 8 M create wider hole geo-polymer concrete in solute of \(\text{NaOH}\) 10 M. However, Geo-polymer concrete has higher percentage porosity than Cement concrete. The higher opened hole in concrete will make concrete become porous, then strong press of concrete will be lower. The activator geo-polymer concrete of \(\text{NaOH}\) 8M will be more durable than 10 M activator.
Equal to the porosity test, permeability test for mass comparison of \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 1.5\) is higher and more durable. However, chloride penetration shows the Charge passed for concrete resistance with current potential 40 V, the geo-polymer concrete will be decreasing, but not for 10 M-2 that increase as much 8 % in 12.5% solvent. However, for cement concrete will increase as much 70%, from \(\text{NaCl}\) 3% to \(\text{NaCl}\) 12.5%. That mean, \(\text{NaCl}\) 12.5% cement concrete will decrease. Then, chloride penetration will be higher, so, \(\text{NaCl}\) concentration solute of concrete to chloride penetration will decrease.
From the diffuse test, degree of chloride get smaller and the potential current will be smaller, so, diffusion speed from chloride of concrete will be, too. For geo-polymer, concrete with comparison mass of \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 1.5\) will have diffusion speed higher than \(\frac{\text{Na}_2\text{SiO}_3}{\text{NaOH}} = 2\) and 8M-1.5 concrete will have average diffusion speed as much as 2.231. So, we can summarize that the higher activator of concrete and the degree comparison of \(\frac{\text{Na}_{2}\text{SiO}_{3}}{\text{NaOH}}\) will increase its concrete durability.
