Abstract

Perkembangan industri otomotif menyebabkan permintaan pasar yang meningkat terhadap komponen-komponen pendukung, salah satunya fastener. Dalam pembuatan fastener dilibatkan proses heat treatment guna meningkatkan sifat fisis dan mekaniknya. Pada penelitian ini digunakan desain eksperimen dengan metode taguchi untuk mendapatkan kombinasi level faktor yang sesuai untuk proses heat treatment. Adapun faktor yang diteliti adalah temperatur dan waktu tahan hardening serta temperatur tempering. Pada temperatur hardening memiliki level berupa 800;820;820;830oC, 820;840;840;850 oC, 840;860;860;870 oC. Untuk waktu tahan hardening variasinya berupa 30, 45 dan 60 menit. Sementara untuk temperatur tempering variasinya berupa 480;480;480 oC, 530;530;530 oC, 550;550;550 oC. Respons yang digunakan pada penelitian ini merupakan nilai kekerasan dari body fastener. Target nilai kekerasan yang ingin didapatkan yaitu 27 HRC. Melalui pengolahan data dengan metode taguchi dan neural network, diperoleh level optimum dengan kombinasi temperatur hardening pada 820;840;840;850 oC waktu tahan 45 menit dan temperatur tempering 530;530;530 oC, prediksi nilai kekerasan yang didapat 26,51 HRC. Selain itu, dengan adanya level optimum ini dapat mengurangi biaya produksi sebesar 2.760.000/bulan.

The development of automotive industry caused the increasing market demand towards supporting components, such as fastener. In the manufacture of fasteners heat treatment process involved in order to improve the physical and mechanical properties of the product. This research used experimental designs with the Taguchi method to get a combination of factor levels appropriate for the heat treatment process. The factors studied were hardening temperature, holding time of hardening, and tempering temperature. At temperature hardening the levels were 800;820;820;830oC, 820;840;840;850 oC, 840;860;860;870 oC. At holding time of hardening the levels were 30, 45 and 60 minutes. At tempering temperature the levels were 480;480;480 oC, 530;530;530 oC, 550;550;550 oC. Response were used in this study is hardness of the fastener. Hardness target value to be obtained at 27 HRC. Through data processing with the Taguchi and Neural Network method, optimum level is obtained by a combination of temperature hardening at 820; 840; 840; 850 oC holding time of 45 minutes and tempering temperature 530; 530; 530 oC. The predictive value of hardness is 26.51 HRC. In addition, the presence of optimum levels can reduce the production cost of 2.76 million / month.
