Abstract

======================================================================================

Poly (L-lactic acid) (PLLA) is a biodegradable polymer having a good mechanical properties but still have a deficiency, that can be restricting its use, such as biomedical field, Environment, Textile. Cellulose acetate (CA) is a derivative of a natural polymer having many advantages of them have a good stability against temperature and good biocompatibility, so CA can be applied in the biomedical and environmental fields. Taking into account the advantages of each component, mixing between PLLA and CA are expected to form the biocomposite that has superior properties and good performance in the application. This research was conducted to study the effect of changing the weight ratio between PLLA and PLLA biocomposites CA on properties / CA, as well as property and adsorption performance of the PLLA / CA beads, and studied the effect of changing the pH of the methylene blue adsorption performance of the PLLA / CA beads. This research method is divided into two phases. The first stage is the stage of the synthesis of the film, in which PLLA dissolved in chloroform, CA was dissolved in acetone then both mixed and stirred to become homogeneous solution, then the solution is homogeneous molded into a film in petridish. The second stage is the stage of making PLLA / CA Beads, starting from PLLA dissolved in chloroform, CA was dissolved in acetone and DMSO were then both mixed and stirred to become homogeneous solution Having formed a homogeneous solution PLLA / CA, the solution was injected into the bath coagulation to form beads then soaked in a solution of NaOH after the oven at 45oC for 24 hours. For the test to be done, namely thermal stability test PLLA / CA films using TGA test, for mechanical properties PLLA / CA films with DMA, and morphology analysis is SEM. For PLLA / CA Beads tested SEM morphology, to analyze the BET surface area and the last is a test spectophotometric adsorption with UV-VIS. From the research that has been done is obtained for PLLA / CA CA films that the more you add will wane transparency fim. The value of modulus young is highest in biocomposites PLLA/CA will further increase with increasing CA and the value is 4,8405 GPa. And for the TGA analyze showed a growing number of CA added the higher the temperature required for degraded.. As for PLLA / CA Beads showed that a growing number of CA were added to the pores of beads will be more porous beads with a greater surface area and will be resemble a round. From BET analyze showed that biocomposite PLLA/CA 0/100 has a surface area larger than bicomposite PLLA/CA 25/75 amounting to 52,509 m2/gr. But biocomposite PLLA/CA at neutral pH has the optimum % removal that is equal to 61,399%.
