Abstract
Gagasan ide awal dari rancangan Oase Surabaya ini berasal dari isu konsumerisme. Isu ini mengarahkan kepada fenomena psiko-sosial bahwa masyarakat perkotaan masa kini mendapatkan kebahagiaan semu dengan melakukan kegiatan belanja secara berlebihan untuk hal-hal yang kurang bermanfaat.
Oase Surabaya kemudian dihadirkan untuk memberikan opsi sebagai wadah untuk melakukan kegiatan positif. Desain ini diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif dalam mengatasi kejenuhan atas kesibukan masyarakat di Kota Surabaya.
Metode desain yang diterapkan dalam desain ini adalah biophilic design yang dikombinasikan dengan ilmu psikologi berkaitan dengan teori kebahagiaan sebagai solusi permasalahan fenomena psiko-sosial tersebut. Metode ini dilakukan dengan menyesuaikan poin-poin kebahagiaan dikombinasikan metode desain biophilic berdasarkan literatur yang sudah ada.

The idea behind Surabaya Oase design is derived from consumerism issue. This issue leads to psycho-social phenomenon that urban society nowadays get false happiness by conducting excessive spending on things that are less useful.
Oase Surabaya is presented to provide an option of place for positive activities. This design is expected to be an alternative to overcome boredom over the bustle of society in the city of Surabaya.
The design method applied in this design is biophilic design combined with the science of psychology concerned with the theory of happiness as a solution to the problems of the psycho-social phenomenon. This method is done by adjusting the points of happiness combined with biophilic design method based on literature.
