Abstract
Aliran yang melintasi suatu bluff body yang salah satunya adalah bentuk
silinder sirkular banyak dijumpai dalam aplikasi engineering. Ketika melintasi
susunan silinder aliran tersebut akan membentuk suatu pattern tertentu, dan hal ini
akan berdampak terhadap karakteristik aerodinamik dari silinder dalam susunan
tersebut. Penelitian ini akan meneliti fenomena aliran yang terjadi di sekeliling
susunan 4 silinder sirkular yang membentuk konfigurasi in-line square dekat
dinding datar pada lapis batas turbulen.
Metode eksperimen diterapkan dengan menggunakan open circuit
subsonic wind tunnel untuk memperoleh data kuantitatif tentang distribusi tekanan
statik dari masing-masing kontur silinder dan dinding, maupun profil kecepatan di
daerah wake silinder downstream. Selain itu data kualitatif seperti visualisasi pola
aliran yang terjadi disekeliling susunan silinder diperoleh melalui metode simulasi
menggunakan paket program CFD dengan pendekatan 2D dan 3D U-RANS dan
model viscous k-ω SST. Kedua metode penelitian ini dilakukan pada rasio spasi
L/D= 4,0 dan L/D= 2,7 dengan rasio gap G/D= 0,0÷0,5 interval 0,1 dan G/D= 1,0
pada Re= 5,3x104 berdasarkan diameter silinder.
Berdasarkan penelitian terhadap susunan empat silinder sirkular in-line
square dekat dinding diperoleh hasil: a) distribusi tekanan dari masing-masing
kontur silinder dalam susunan dipengaruhi dengan adanya dinding, baik pada
rasio L/D= 4,0 maupun L/D= 2,7; b) pengaruh dinding terhadap karakteristik
aerodinamik dari silinder dapat diklasifikasikan menjadi 3 (tiga) kelompok, yakni
sangat kuat pada rasio gap G/D= 0,0, kuat pada rasio 0,1 ≤ G/D ≤ 0,2, lemah pada
rasio 0,3 ≤ G/D ≤ 0,5, dan tidak ada pengaruh pada rasio gap G/D= 1,0; dan c)
terjadi perubahan pola aliran yang unik diantara susunan silinder ketika rasio spasi
L/D= 4,0 diturunkan menjadi L/D= 2,7 pada semua variasi rasio G/D.

The flow crossed over a bluff body such as a circular cylinder could be
found in engineering applications. It makes a specific flow patterns and affected to
aerodynamic characteristic of those cylinders, when it passed through a cylinders
arrangement. This research would investigated a flow phenomena around four
circular cylinders in in-line square arrangement near a plane wall in turbulent
boundary layer.
An experiment method would be applied using an open circuit subsonic
wind tunnel to collected a quantitative data such as: a static pressure distributions
on the cylinders and the wall contours, and a velocity profiles near wake region on
the cylinders downstream. While a qualitative data such as: a visualization of flow
pattern around the cylinders arrangement would be get with a simulation model
using a CFD package programme, with the 2D and 3D U-RANS approach with k-
ω SST viscous model. Both of these methods would be applied on each L/D=4,0
and L/D=2.7 spacing ratio, and G/D=0,0÷0,5 interval 0,1 and G/D=1,0 gap
spacing ratio at Re=5,3x104 based on a circular cylinder diameter.
The results of this research showed that: a) the pressure distributions of
each cylinders contour be affected with an excistence of wall on L/D=4,0 spacing
ratio as well as L/D=2,7; b) the affected of the gap between a lower surface of
cylinder and wall to an aerodynamic characteristics of the cylinders can be
classified into three groups such as: a very strong influence at G/D=0,0 ratio, a
strong influence at 0,1≤G/D≤0,2 ratios; a weak influence at 0,3≤G/D≤0,5 ratios,
and not influence like an isolated cylinder at G/D≤1,0 ratios, c) it occured of an
unique flow patterns when L/D=4,0 spacing ratio changed to the L/D=2.7 at all of
the variation of the G/D ratios.
