Abstract

NX Machining merupakan salah satu fitur dari perangkat lunak NX Siemen berbasis CAD/CAM yang ada di laboratorium CAE jurusan Teknik Mesin ITS, yang selanjutnya akan dimanfaatkan untuk membuat program G Code proses pemesinan die untuk proses ironing selongsong peluru kaliber 20 mm.
Proses pembuatan G Code pada NX Machining diawali dengan proses simulasi. Pada proses simulasi hal-hal yang perlu dilakukan diantaranya adalah membuat gambar CAD komponen, menentukan jenis mesin, ukuran raw material, jenis dan ukuran pahat potong, pemrograman operasi pemesinan, serta memverifikasi proses pemesinan yang dibutuhkan. Untuk mengevaluasi apakah program G Code telah sesuai dengan yang dibutuhkan, dilakukan proses running test G Code. Selanjutnya dilakukan proses pembuatan die pada mesin CNC Turning Leadwell LTC 20 B, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses pemeriksaan ukuran geometri dan dimensi die tersebut dengan alat ukur jangka sorong dan bevel protactor.
Dari penelitian tugas akhir ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat lunak CAM NX Machining dapat diaplikasikan dalam pembuatan G Code untuk proses pemesinan die untuk selongsong peluru kaliber 20 mm, dan dari hasil pemeriksaan ukuran diketahui bahwa dimensi dan geometri die hasil proses pemesinan telah memenuhi rancangan.

NX Machining is one of features of CAD/CAM software-based NX Siemens which have installed at CAE laboratory Department of Mechanical Engineering of ITS, which would be used to create G Code program for machining process of die for ironing process 20 mm caliber cartridge case.
In NX Machining, the process to generate G Code begins with simulation process. There are several things to do in the process of simulation including create the CAD drawings of components, determine type of machine, the size of raw material, type and size of the cutting tool, programming machining operations, and verify the required machining process. Running test process performed to evaluate whether the G Code program has been suitable with what is needed at CNC machine or not. After G Code program is correct, then the manufacturing process of die performed on CNC Turning machines Leadwell LTC 20 B, and then proceed with inspection of geometry and dimensions of die with caliper and bevel protactor.
The result of this research shown that NX Machining can be applied to create G Code program for machining process of die for 20 mm caliber cartridge case, and the results of inspection have known that the dimensions and geometry of die have fulfilled the design
