Abstract
Pengecoran adalah salah satu proses yang sederhana dan proses langsung untuk mendapatkan bentuk yang diinginkan. Pada proses pengecoran ini digunakan metode permanent mold casting. Tujuan dari pengecoran ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh temperatur tuang dan perlakuan pre-heat pada cetakan terhadap nilai kekerasan dan volume benda cor. Pada penelitian ini dilakukkan variasi temeperatur tuang yaitu 700 oC, 800 oC, 900 oC, dan 1000 oC, serta perlakuan pre-heat pada cetakan dengan temperatur 450 oC, dan pengaruhnya kepada nilai kekerasan dan volume benda cor yang telah didesain. Pengujian yang dilakukkan pada penilitian ini adalah, uji kekerasan , perhitungan volume benda cor, uji struktur mikro, observasi visual, uji komposisi , dan uji XRD. Dari hasil penelitian didapat hasil bahwa semakin tinggi temperatur tuang volume benda cor meningkat, selain itu perlakuan pre-heat pada cetakan juga berdampak signifikan dengan naiknya volume benda cor. Hasil volume dengan selisih terkecil dengan desain pada piston PT900PHM dan PT1000PHM dengan nilai cacat sebesar 6.162%. Hasil pengujian kekerasan menunjukkan nilai rerata hardness terbesar ada pada pisto PT700 sebesar 115 .1 HB . =================================================================
Casting is one of the simplest processes and the direct process to get the desired shape. In this casting process used permanent mold casting method. The purpose of this casting is to analyze the influence of casting temperature and pre-heat treatment on the mold against the hardness and the volume of casting. In this research, the variation of pouring temperature is 700 oC, 800 oC, 900 oC, and 1000 oC, and pre-heat treatment on mold with temperature of 450 oC, and its effect to hardness value and the volume of cast object that has been designed. The tests carried out in this study are, hardness test, calculation of cast object volume, microstructure test, visual observation, composition test, and XRD test. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that the higher casting temperature of cast material is increased, besides the pre-heat treatment in the mold also has a significant impact with the increase of cast material volume. The result of volume with the smallest difference with design on piston PT900PHM and PT1000PHM with defect value of 6,162%. The result of hardness test shows that the highest hardness average value is on PT700 pisto as big as 115.1 HB.
