Abstract

This study deals with the estimation of residual flux in 1 kVA single phase transformer with core cutting model differences. The used method is two winding single phase transformer simulated with Simulink in MATLAB software. Residual flux can be estimated with inrush current in MATLAB software simulation result and with directly experiment inrush current measurement at energizing transformer. Having seen the result of inrush current from simulation and experiment, the result shown a difference between the simulated inrush current result and experimental result, These differences are used to estimate residual flux from 1-phase transformers.
The result obtained from experiment and simulation is inrush current value from E-I transformer when simulation as much as 5 A but from the experiment as much as 22 A when demagnetization from transformer not performed and has residual flux as much as 890 Wb. And inrush current value from E/E transformer when simulation as much as 4,4 A but from the experiment as much as 9,7 A when demagnetization from transformer not performed and has residual flux as much as 300 Wb. Residual flux estimation from E-I transformer bigger than E/E transformer at the same time demagnetization. The inrush current value from E-I transformer bigger than E/E transformer. The result shows that different core cutting topology affects the residual flux as well as the time of demagnetization.
