Abstract

The Biawak Islands are located on Java sea in the regency north of the Indramayu peninsula around 40 kilometer from the Indramayu north beach. The Biawak Islands are one of the tourist spots attracting a lot of attentions, located on a 120 hectares filled with bakau plants, the beauty of a ‘virgin’ ocean, a working lighthouse from the time of the Netherland occupation and most all the species that become the symbol of the island that is the biawak or known as varanus salvator and. Nowadays, the number of visitors in Biawak Islands are growing higher and higher they come from places around Indonesia such as Jakarta, Cirebon, and outside West Java, this rises the problem of transportation in Biawak Islands. There are currently only a very small mumber of boats that can accomodate only a limited number of visitors to the island. Moreover, the boats that are available does not meet the requirepment for tourist transportation, things such as the number of boats, duration and safety of a trip to Biawak Island are in need of improvement. In this final project, it’s done a technic and economic analysis using a sisters ship with constrains checked before so that it’s appropriate to draught of shipping route with 2 m LWS average. Based on the calculation, the optimum main dimension of the water bus are L=10.4 m, B=4.7 m, H=1.2 m and T=0.3 m. With cost of ship building Rp. 1.513.150.672,39. Lines Plan, General Arrangement and Safety Plan are drawn then.
