Abstract

The Reading Room Engineering Physics ITS has a window on the east and west sides that causes the light of sun received by the room exceed the user required, thus reducing the visual comfort of the user. Visual comfort can be quantified using daylight factor (DF). This final project, to evaluate the Reading Room Engineering Physics ITS that has not been operational and give a recommendation to get the visual comfort. The calculation of DF at some references point has been exceed the minimum requirement accordance with the SNI 03-2396-2001 between 6% until 14%. The DF values are tested by looking at the level of illumination and glare index of the room obtained through the simulation. Of the three designs that have been designed that is using trellis, spatial and the selection of reflectance of materials, and combination of the first and second design, obtained the corresponding result that is in the second design with DF more than 2.278% at the main references point, more than 0.01% at the side of references point and the glare index of less than 19.
