Abstract
Salah satu dari fenomena yang ada dalam penggunaan objek arsitektur adalah terbentuknya idle space, dimana ketika sebuah ruang berada pada kondisi tidak digunakan/ tidak termanfaatkan. Terdapat banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi hal ini. Seperti waktu dari penggunaan ruang dan lain lain. Dan sering terjadi pada tipologi arsitektur di sekitar kita. Terbentuknya idle space merupakan wujud inefisiensi pemanfaatan sebuah ruang.
Konsep yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi hal ini adalah memaksimalisasi penggunaan sebuah ruang. Metode yang digunakan antara lain dengan memperpanjang aktivitas penggunaan ruang, dan menggabungkan program yang memiliki persyaratan teknis yang sama dan waktu yang berbeda dalam sebuah ruang.
Proyek wonokromo junction dipilih sebagai media untuk menerapkan konsep yang ditawarkan. Dengan pertimbangan kawasan ini akan menghasilkan variasi program. Variasi program yang muncul banyak berkaitan dengan rencana pengembangan kawasan berbasis pejalan kaki oleh pemerintah Surabaya. Variasi program yang ada selanjutnya dikelompokkan untuk menentukan ruang formal yang terbentuk.

One of the phenomena that exists in the use of architectural objects is the formation of idle space, where when a space is in unused / unused condition. There are many factors that affect this. Such as time from space usage and others. And often happens to the typology of architecture around us. The formation of idle space is a form of inefficiency of space utilization.
The concept offered to overcome this is to maximize the use of a space. The methods used include, among others, extending the use of space, and combining programs that have the same technical requirements and different times in a space.
The wonokromo junction project was chosen as a medium to apply the concept offered. With consideration of this area will result in variations of the program. The variety of programs that appear a lot related to the development plan of pedestrian-based areas by the government of Surabaya. Variations of existing programs are further grouped to determine the formal space that is formed.
