Abstract
Di bidang pertanian kelapa sawit para petani menggunakan pisau igrek untuk memanen buah kelapa sawit.. Namun perlu dilakukan penelitian pada bahan pembuat pisau igrek agar sesuai standart. Standart SNI nilai kekerasan pisau igrek 45,3 HRC.
Pada penelitian kali ini akan dilakukan analisa pada material awal khususnya pada baja AISI 1050. Metodologi pada penelitian ini meliputi persiapan benda uji, uji laku panas pengerasan dengan tempertur 850˚C, media pendingin air dan variasi holding time 5 menit, 15 menit dan 25 menit kemudian uji metalografi, uji kekerasan dan uji impak. Hasil yang didapatkan akan digunakan untuk bahan baku produk pisau igrek.
Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan kekerasan tertinggi pada holding time 25 menit. Kandungan martensit yang terbentuk semakin banyak yaitu sebanyak 75%. Semakin tinggi martensit yang terbentuk akan membuat material semakin keras. Namun pada baja AISI 1050 juga memiliki bainit sebanyak 25 % dimana itu bisa menambah ketangguhan pada produk pisau. Diikuti dengan nilai Grain Size yaitu 12. Nilai kekerasan sebesar 60.33 HRC. Dan kekuatan impak sebesar 0.0356 joule/mm².

In this research will be done analysis at the beginning of the blade material especially in AISI 1050 steel. The methodology of this research includes preparation of test specimens, heat treatment hardening test with temperture 850˚C, cooling medium is water and the variation of holding time 5 minutes, 15 minutes and 25 Minutes then metallography test, hardness test and impact test. The results which obtained will be used for raw materials of knife products.
The results of this research is obtained the highest hardness at 25 minutes holding time in each specimen because the content of martensite is formed increasingly that is as much as 75%. More the martensite formed will be make the material harder. However in AISI 1050 steel also has austenite residue as much as 25% where it can add the taughness of the blade products. Followed by Grain Size value is 12. Hardness value is 60.33 HRC. And the impact force is 0.0356 joules/mm².
