Abstract

Garcinia tetrandra Pierre is one of the species from family Cluciaceae which have been known containing secondary metabolities compounds, especially xanthones. In this research, two xanthones were isolated from the stem bark of Garcinia tertandra Pierre, there are parvifolixanthone C (1) and calabaxanthone (2). The two compounds were isolated using maceration with dichloromethane and followed by fractionation using column chromatography, vakum liquid chromatography and radial chromatography. The structure of the compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopy data of IR, UV, 1H NMR and 13C NMR.
