Abstract

When a ship sails, it is greatly affected by the sea condition, particularly by the height of the wave. The wave will cause the ship encounters rotational and translational motions where these motions can cause some phenomena that notably happen to a high-speed craft, such as slamming. The purpose of this final project is to analyze the impact pressure that works when the slamming occurs on corvette warship. The pressure are calculated at the station 19 - 23 that are located in the bow of the ship with 5 seawave’s variants, which are sea state 3 - 7. The speeds of the ship are 30 knot and 15 knot with the heading angle of 1800 againts the wave direction. The motion of the ship is analysed using Ansys AQWA software and using numerical approach calculation as the next step to determine the probability of slamming, the intensity of slamming, the relative vertical velocity, the relative vertical acceleration and also the bottom impact caused by slamming. Based on the analysis, the results show that probability of slamming, intensity of slamming, relative vertical velocity, relative vertical acceleration and bottom impact are increasing along with the increase of the seastate and the speed of the ship. The maximum value of probability of slamming is (0.510), intensity of slamming is (344) in one hour, relative vertical velocity is (5.754 m/s) and the relative vertical acceleration is (10.732 m/s2) that are located at station 23, meanwhile the maximum bottom impact with the value of 474.28 kN/m2 is located at station 19. The values of bottom impact with the speed of 30 knot are not greater than design bottom slamming pressure from BKI with the value of 292.747 kN/m2 until sea state 6, meanwhile at the speed of 15 knot, the values of bottom impact in all condition of the sea state 3 to 7 are not greater than design bottom slamming pressure from BKI.
