Abstract
Ketiga melakukan pengujian laminasi kayu mahoni berdasarkan standar pengujian ASTM D3500. Nilai kekuatan tarik rata-rata spesimen laminasi kayu mahoni adalah 115,63 MPa. Nilai kekuatan tarik spesimen kayu mahoni utuh rata-rata adalah 90,83 MPa. Nilai kekuatan tarik spesimen kayu jati adalah 97,1 MPa. Disimpulkan bahwa meningkatknya nilai kuat tarik laminasi kayu mahoni disebabkan sambungan lem epoxy antara bilah laminasi kayu mahoni. Terakhir melakukan perhitungan total biaya pembangunan kapal kayu penangkap ikan ukuran 20 GT.

The main purpose of this final project is to conduct the technical and economical analysis in the use of laminated mahogany wood materials for building of 20 GT wooden fishing vessel. Firstly, existing lamination technology was observed. Secondly, potency of mahogany forest was observed at Perum Perhutani. Thirdly, laminated mahogany wood was tested using tensile strength methode which refers to ASTM D-3500 standard. The tensile strength average values of laminated mahogany wood is 115,63 MPa. Tensile strength average values of solid mahogany wood is 90,833 MPa. The tensile strength of teak wood is 97, 1 MPa. It is concluded that additional value of mahogany wood tensile strength is caused by the joint of epoxy glue among strips of laminated mahogany wood. Finally, the construction cost of a 20 GT wooden fishing vessel was calculated. Total cost using laminated mahogany wood include machinery is Rp. 805.181.000, while if using teak wood material include machinery is Rp. 1.512.850.000. The percentage of the cost using laminated mahogany wood material approximately 47% cheaper than using teak wood material but the tensile strength are not significantly different. Based on appropriate analysis of shipyard industry, percentage Internal Rate Return of wooden vessel shipyard is 13,33%. Payback Period happened on 7 years and 8 mounts, with Return of Investment Rp. 738.081.000. The results of this research proved that wooden shipyard with laminated mahogany in production is feasible.
