Abstract

Kebutuhan listrik dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar merupakan hal yang penting, terutama dalam jenjang pendidikan tinggi. Tahun lalu, pembayaran listrik di Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS) mencapai angka Rp6.000.000.000,00 (enam miliar rupiah). Meningkatnya biaya pembayaran listrik ini disebabkan oleh pemborosan beberapa fasilitas yang ruang kelas seperti lampu, AC, komputer dan proyektor. Pengaturan sistem kelistrikan di ruang kelas yang ada di ITS masih dikendalikan oleh perseorangan, belum dikontrol secara terpusat melalui bagian pengajaran.
Sistem kontrol peralatan listrik smart class yang dikendalikan secara terpusat dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas manajemen penggunaan energi listrik di kampus ITS. Sistem ini merupakan sebuah sistem smart class dimana semua kontrol peralatan listrik pada ruang kelas dapat dipantau melalui suatu sistem di ruang pengajaran yang terintegrasi dengan web. Pengiriman komunikasi data dari ruang kelas ke bagian pengajaran akan menggunakan power line carrier. Power Line Carrier mengirimkan data komunikasi dengan menumpangkan frekuensi komunikasi diatas frekuensi standar tegangan.
Hasil pengujian keseluruhan sistem didapatkan persentase keberhasilan sistem sebesar 97%. Kegagalan sistem terjadi karena adanya kesalahan data pada slave. Kegagalan sistem dapat diatasi dengan melakukan kontrol melalui web.

Electricity is needs in any school activity, especially on college. Last year, the electricity’s payment of Institute Technology Sepuluh November (ITS) reached Rp6.000.000.000 (six billion rupiah). The rising cost of electricity is due to some wastage facilities in classroom such as lamps, AC, computers and projectors. The electricity settings in ITS’s classroom still being remote guided by an individual, not centralized remote guided through the teaching departement.
Electrical solution system smart class centralized remote guided being a solution to develop effectiveness of management electrical energy use on ITS.This system is a smart calss system which all the control of electrical equipment in classrom can be monitored through the web that integrated by web in teaching departement. The delivery of data communications from classroom to teaching departement will using power line carrier. Power Line Carrier transmit communication data by laying the frequency of communication above the standard voltage frequency.
The result of overall system test obtained a percentage of system success in number 97%. System failure occurs due to a data error in the slave. System failure can be overcome by controlling over the web.
