Abstract

=======================================================
Microalgae can provide great opportunities to meet the world's energy reserves. Microalgae extraction process into biodiesel needs to be developed to be more efficient. Chlorella vulgaris type chlorella species have the potential to produce good lipids for biodiesel. In the process of making biodiesel one important part is the extraction process. In this study used mass transfer model on Chlorella Vulgaris microbial lipid extraction using CXM (CO2-Expanded Methanol) Solvent. Given optimal control on the selected model for more efficient results. The optimal control method chosen is LQR (Linear Quadratic Regulator) by reviewing the volume of solvent as control variable. Then do the comparison of optimal control result that happened. The simulation results showed that after control, the lipid concentration in the solvent flow increased by 0.4175 kg/m3 and the lipid concentration in the microalgae particles was 1711 kg/m3.
