Abstract

Standar emisi yang diadopsi oleh IMO pada mesin
diesel penggerak kapal telah semakin diperketat. Aturan ini
juga berlaku untuk mesin diesel dual fuel terutama B10-
CNG. Untuk menentukan penggunaan mesin diesel dual
fuel, perlu untuk belajar secara eksperimental. Yanmar
mesin diesel TF-85 MH telah digunakan sebagai peralatan
eksperimen. Agar dual fuel-CNG B10 dapat mengalir ke
dalam ruang pembakaran, sistem bahan bakar harus
dimodifikasi. Sistem kontrol programmable logic controller
(PLC) telah diadopsi dalam penelitian ini. Tiga bahan bakar
komposisi termasuk 100% B10, 10% CNG, dan 20% CNG
telah digunakan dalam percobaan. Hasil penelitian
menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bahan bakar ganda
mempengaruhi penurunan tenaga dan torsi. Emisi NOx pada
penggunaan bahan bakar ganda pada umumnya dapat
dikurangi, kecuali 20% CNG pada 1300 rpm dan 2.700 rpm
yang masih tinggi.

Emission standards which it adopted by IMO on ship
propulsion diesel engines have been increasingly tightened.
This rule also applies to dual fuel diesel engine especially
B10-CNG. To determine the use of dual fuel diesel engine it
is necessary to study experimentally. Yanmar diesel engines
TF-85 MH has been used as an experimental apparatus. In
order for a dual fuel-CNG B10 can flow into the combustion
chamber, the fuel system needs to be modified. The control
system programmable logic controller (PLC) has been
adopted in this research. Three fuels composition including
100% B10, 10% CNG, and 20% CNG has been used in
experiments. The results showed that the use of dual fuel
influence the decreasing of power and torque. NOx
emissions on a dual fuel usage in general can be reduced,
except 20% CNG at 1300 rpm and 2700 rpm still higher.
