Abstract
Rusunawa Tanah Merah II dibangun pada tahun 2009 dengan
total 2 blok dan 192 unit satuan rumah termasuk instalasi
pengolahan air limbahnya (IPAL). IPAL pada Rusunawa Tanah
Merah II terdiri dari unit anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) dan
biofilter anaerobik bermedia batu koral. Kedua unit pengolahan
terdapat pada setiap blok rusunawa. Selama 5 tahun beroperasi,
kajian khusus untuk mengevaluasi kinerja IPAL belum pernah
dilaksanakan sebelumnya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan evaluasi
untuk menganalisis proses pengolahan air limbah beserta
kendalanya. Analisis diawali dengan menguji sampel air limbah
yang diambil di IPAL kedua blok. Selanjutnya hasil uji
dibandingkan dengan Peraturan Gubernur Jawa Timur Nomor 72
tahun 2013. Parameter kualitas air limbah pada analisis tediri dari
BOD, COD, TSS, serta Minyak dan Lemak. Efisiensi removal
pada kedua unit ABR untuk parameter BOD mencapai 40-86%,
COD 41-86%, TSS 11-90%, serta minyak dan lemak 69-98%.
Sedangkan efisiensi removal pada kedua unit biofilter anaerobik
untuk parameter BOD mencapai 11-57%, COD 10-57%, TSS 21-
73%, serta minyak dan lemak hingga 100%.

Rusunawa Tanah Merah II was built in 2009 with totally 2 twin
blocks and 192 units included its wastewater treatment plant
(WWTP). The WWTP in Rusunawa Tanah Merah II contains of
anaerobic baffled reactor (ABR) and anaerobic filter with coral
media. Both of units were built at each of twin block. Having been
operated for about 5 years, there was no any former examination
to evaluate WWTP performance. Therefore, the evaluation is
needed to analyze the process of the treatment along with its
obstacles. The analysis started by examining the wastewater
samples which taken on WWTP in both of blocks. Then it
compared to Governor Rule of East Java Number 72, 2013.
Wastewater quality parameters in the analysis comprise BOD,
COD, TSS, and Oil and Grease. The removal efficiency in both
ABR reached 40-86% for BOD, 41-86% for COD, 11-90% for
TSS, and 69-98% for oil and grease. Whereas in both anaerobic
biofilter reached 11-57% for BOD, 10-57% for COD, 21-73% for
TSS, and up to 100% for oil and grease.
