Abstract
Sampah plastik merupakan salah satu masalah terbesar yang terjadi baik di dunia maupun di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pengolahan sampah plastik agar permasalahan yang ada dapat diselesaikan. Pada penelitian ini dibuat komposit berbasis termoplastik yang memanfaatkan sampah plastik berupa LDPE, styrofoam dan melamin yang kemudian diaplikasikan sebagai material konstruksi. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 10 variasi komposisi. Dari hasil SEM didapat bahwa penambahan jumlah LDPE dan styrofoam menyebabkan berkurangnya nilai porositas. Hasil uji densitas didapat nilai densitas terbesar pada spesimen 4 (tanpa styrofoam) sebesar 1.211 g/cm3. Hasil uji absorbability didapat nilai terendah pada spesimen 5 (dengan penambahan styrofoam) sebesar 4.2%. Hasil uji bending menunjukkan kekuatan bending tertinggi dicapai oleh spesimen 5 (dengaan penambahan styrofoam) sebesar 115.3 MPa dan hasil Kekuatan tekan tertinggi dicapai oleh spesimen 4 (dengan penambahan styrofoam) sebesar 13.72 MPa.
