Abstract

Masih adanya penimbunan sampah terbuka menyebabkan terjadinya pencemaran lindi ke tanah maupun air. Perlu dilakukan pengolahan terhadap tanah tercemar lindi sehingga tidak mencemari lingkungan. Salah satu metode pengolahan yang bisa diterapkan adalah fitoremediasi. Fitoremediasi merupakan metode pengolahan menggunakan tumbuhan yang tergolong ramah lingkungan dan juga murah. Namun, kebanyakan pengolahan fitoremediasi yang dilakukan hanya menggunakan satu jenis tumbuhan. Sedangkan di alam tumbuhan tidak mungkin hidup hanya dalam satu jenis saja. Karena itu, perlu dilakukan kajian potensi mixed terrestrial plants untuk remediasi tanah tercemar lindi.
Sumber literatur yang digunakan dalam studi literatur ini adalah artikel dan jurnal ilmiah, prosiding, tugas akhir, tesis, disertasi, dan literatur lain yang berhubungan dengan topik yang dibahas. Metode studi literatur yaitu mencari sumber literatur menggunakan kombinasi kata kunci seperti lindi, fitoremediasi, atau TPA, pada website pencarian jurnal seperti Google Scholar dan Sciencedirect.
Tanah tercemar lindi mengandung berbagai kontaminan organik dan anorganik yang juga terkandung di dalam lindi. Selain itu, tanah yang tercemar lindi akan mengalami perubahan karakteristik fisik dan kimia. Misalnya pH menurun, konduktivitas hidrolik, kapasitas pertukaran kation, konduktivitas elektrik, dan kesadahan meningkat.
Berbagai jenis tumbuhan dapat digunakan untuk remediasi tanah tercemar lindi, karena kontaminan yang beragam jenisnya. Jenis rerumputan seperti vetiver dan alfalfa mampu menyerap berbagai kontaminan organik maupun logam berat. Jenis pepohonan seperti jarak pagar dan Eucalyptus juga mampu menyerap beberapa kontaminan logam berat. Pemilihan tumbuhan didasarkan oleh beberapa faktor seperti jenis dan konsentrasi kontaminan serta kedalaman pencemaran.
Tanah tercemar lindi dapat mengandung berbagai macam kontaminan. Penggunaan mixed terrestrial plants dapat meningkatkan efisiensi removal. Dengan penyebaran lindi yang bisa mencapai lebih dari 20 m, penggunaan pepohonan sangat diperlukan untuk menjangkau pencemaran. Penggunaan pepohonan dapat dikombinasikan dengan tumbuhan perdu atau lainnya yang memiliki pertumbuhan yang lebih cepat. Faktor yang perlu dipertimbangkan dalam penggunaan mixed plants antara lain jenis kontaminan dan sistem operasional.

Open dumping is causing leachate contamination to soil and water. Remediation is needed so the soil should not be polluting environment. One of the treatment methods that can be applied is phytoremediation. Phytoremediation is a method of remediation using plants that are considered environmentally friendly and also cheap. However, most of phytoremediation treatments are performed using only one plant species. While in the nature, plant cannot live in one type only. Therefore, it is necessary to study the potential of mixed terrestrial plants to remediate leachate contaminated soil.
The literature sources used in this literature study are scientific articles and journals, proceedings, final assignments, theses, dissertations, and other literature related to the topics covered. The literature study method is to search for literature sources using a combination of keywords such as leachate, phytoremediation, or TPA, on journal search websites such as Google Scholar and Science direct.
Leachate contaminated soil contains a variety of organic and inorganic contaminants that are also contained in leachate. In addition, polluted soil will have a change in physical and chemical characteristics. For example the pH decreases, hydraulic conductivity, cation exchange capacity, electrical conductivity, and hardness increased.
Various types of plants can be used to remediate soil contaminated leachate, due to contaminants of various types. Types of grasses such as vetiver and alfalfa are able to absorb various organic and heavy metal contaminants. Types of trees such as Jatropha and Eucalyptus are also able to absorb some heavy metal contaminants. Plant selection is based on several factors such as the type and concentration of contaminants as well as the depth of contamination.
Leachate contaminated soil may contain various contaminants. The use of mixed terrestrial plants can improve removal efficiency. With the spread of leachate that can reach more than 20 m, the use of trees is needed to reach the pollution. The use of trees can be combined with herbaceous or other plants that have faster growth. Factors to consider in the use of mixed plants include the types of contaminants and operational systems.
