Abstract

Economizer merupakan komponen penting dalam meningkatkan efisiensi perpindahan panas hingga 4-6% di dalam sistem boiler pipa air. Kegagalan pada pipa u-tube economizer SA210-A1 Boiler-1102 PT. Petrokimia terjadi pada lengkungan dalam pipa. Untuk menanggulangi hal yang serupa, analisa kegagalan pada u-tube economizer ini perlu dilakukan. Beberapa pengujian dilakukan untuk mendukung hasil analisa. Secara visual, terdapat lubang dari dalam keluar u-tube. Secara metalografi terdapat korosi berbentuk mikrocrack didalam lubang tube. Hasil analisa dan data-data yang diperoleh, kebocoran yang terjadi disebabkan oleh adanya korosi pitting pada sisi dalam tube akibat terjadinya penurunan tekanan pada saat air melalui u-tube sehingga oksigen terlarut naik keatas ke permukaan dalam tube dan terjadi korosi. Adanya oksigen terlarut yang masuk ke economizer akibat oxygen scavenger yang di injeksikan di dalam dearator belum bereaksi secara sempurna karena adanya fluktuasi temperatur.

Economizer is an important component to enhance the efficiency of transferring heat up to 4-6 % in boiler system of water tube. Failure on economizer u-tube pipe sa210-a1 boiler-1102 PT. Petrokimia occurred in u-tube to overcome such problem, failure on u-tube economizer analysis needs to be conducted. Several tests have been conducted ti support the analysis fiding. Visually there was a hole from inside to outside u-tube. metallografically, there was a corrosion in the form of microcrack in side the tube hole. The result of the analysis and based on data obtained, the leak was caused by pitting corrosion on the side within the tube resulting from the decrease of pressure during the water flow through u-tube so that the oxygen was going up on to the surface in side the tube and corrosion occurred oxygen existed entering into economizer due to the scavenger oxygen injected in dearator did not completely reaction because of the temperature fluctuating.
