Abstract

Dimana selisih tegangan maksimum terbesar mencapai 593.6 kN sedangkan selisih tegangan rata-rata terbesar hanya mencapai 9.809 kN.

In its development, CALM buoy has undergone several geometrical shape
iterations. In the beginning, CAL
M
buoy had a rectangular shape with high drag
resistance. After th
at, buoy was made with cylindrical shape, this innovation
lowered the drag resistance of the buoy. However, the fabrication process of said
buoy requires higher cost and longer time. One of the newest innovation has
buoys in hexagonal shape, this shape is
more profitable because it is not only
cheaper and easier to be fabricated, it also retains hydrodynamic efficiency. In this
research, evaluation was done on the maximum tension of mooring system due to
SPM hull buoy geometric variation at Cinta Terminal.
Case stud
y
used in this
research is SPM #1043 (cylindrical shape) and SPM Banner (hexagonal shape)
which have operated in Cinta Terminal of PT. CNOOC SES Ltd where SPM
#1043 was changed to SPM Banner because its condition
has
already reached the
end of its use. The result of this analysis shows the differen
ce of
geometrical
shape causes a big difference for maximum tension and insignificant difference
for mean tension of the mooring system.
The
biggest
difference for maximum
t
ension reached 593.6 kN while the difference for mean tension merely reached
9.809 kN.
