Abstract

Several parameters in electrospinning can be used to optimize the nanofiber size, this electrospinning parameters that affect the fiber diameter are the liquid concentration, DC High Voltage and Nozzle to Collector distance. This experiment aims to maximizing the parameter of variation in producing the size and morphology of fiber itself. Electrospinning uses the liquid that has been applied with DC High Voltage so the elektrostatik and electric field are happened. Those liquid will be lengthened with cone shaped size (Taylor Cone). And formed the thinning polymer jet that evaporates so the fiber is formed in collector. The Scanning electron microscopy test is conducted to determine the diameter and morphology of the formed fiber. According to this experiment it can be concluded that the smallest nanofiber can be obtained when liquid concentration is at 5% and DC High Voltage is on 10kV and the distance between nozzle and collector is 15 cm.
