Abstract

Pada tugas akhir ini dibahas studi kasus pada Mooring Buoy yang tenggelam karena kehilangan daya apung atau bouyancy. Sehingga mooring buoy tersebut tidak dapat digunakan secara operasional. Untuk menyelesaikan studi kasus tersebut, maka dilakukan analisa tenggelamnya mooring buoy dengan metode Root Cause Analysis (RCA) yaitu Fishbone diagram. Berdasarkan hasil analisa menggunakan fisbone diagram, yang selanjutnya dilakukan analisa dengan Finite Element Method (FEM) untuk mengetahui tegangan yang terjadi pada buoy dalam 3 kondisi, yaitu tabrakan kapal, mooring buoy ditarik oleh kapal ketika sedang tambat, dan tengangan pada buoy di sekitar mur bautnya. Tegangan yang terbesar terjadi pada buoy yang ditabrak kapal yang menyebabkan robeknya 1 kompartemen pada buoy, dan air laut masuk ke dalam kompartemen sehingga kehilangan buoyancy pada 1 kompartemen. Dan perhitungan buoyancy, jika hanya 1 compartemen saja yang kemasukan air, tidak akan menyebabkan buoy tenggelam karena buoyancy yang tersisa sebesar 2,2813 ton. Berdasarkan perhitungan buoyancy, buoy akan tenggelam apabila air yang masuk kedalam buoy sebesar 3 kompartemen. Disimpulkan tenggelamnya buoy bukan merupakan akibat gaya tubrukan kapal, namun akibat faktor material body buoy.
=========== This thesis was discussing about a problem of Mooring Buoy which was reported missing and found in sinking condition due to its loss of buoyancy. Therefore, that mooring buoy could not be used operationally. So, the sinking of mooring buoy analysis using Root Cause Analysis (RCA), that was Fishbone Diagram, was conducted to overcome this problem. Based on the analysis results using Fisbone Diagram, further analysis is using Finite Element Method (FEM) in three conditions were conducted to know the stress which occurred on the buoy, i.e. boat collison, buoy was pulled by boat while mooring, and also its stress on bolt joint area. The largest stress occurred on boat collison that caused a rupture of one compartment in buoy, so the sea water entered to the compartment and caused loss of buoyancy. Then, buoyancy calculation was conducted, if only the sea water entered a compartment, it would not cause the sinking of the buoy due to its residual buoyancy of 2.2813 tons. But, based on buoyancy calculation, buoy would be sunk if only the sea water entered the buoy of 3 compartments. It conculed that sinking of mooring buoy is not because of boat collison force, but of buoy material.
