Abstract

Currently the needs of fast ships are beginning to increase, such as ships for the securing a territory, such as warships, patrols and ships for
pursuit. Fast ship has a design to achieve the desired speed. In making a ship always pay attention to techno economy side, that is besides design design parameters which is also planned consideration economic side.
Based on the above thinking, this final project will test the
effectiveness of the use of Step Hull on patrol boat 60 m, which will get more accurate results on patrol boat design through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis approach.
From the tests that have been done, the step hull that has the most appropriate position is on the variation of model 1. This is because the resistance value in the variation of model 1 is 199701.2 N at 28 knots, and the value of the lift force is 760836 N at 28 knots.
