Abstract

Self-Propelled Urea Barge (SPUB) Pusri Indoensia I milik PT. Pupuk
Sriwidjaja Palembang merupakan tipe kapal yang memiliki karakteristik lambung
gemuk dan sarat rendah. Kapal ini telah sukses beroperasi dengan performa
hirodinamika yang cukup baik. Namun performa ini masih dapat ditingkatkan lagi
dengan cara mengembangkan bentuk lambungnya. Faktor utama yang memiliki
pengaruh besar terhadap performa kapal khususnya besarnya hambatan adalah bentuk
lambung kapal (hull form), terutama bentuk haluan kapal. Oleh karena itu pada Tesis
ini dilakukan studi pengembangan bentuk lambung SPB menjadi bentuk X-bow dan
Axe-bow untuk menurunkan hambatan dan memperbaiki kulaitas seakeeping kapal.
Analisis hambatan dan seakeeping dilakukan dengan metode CFD. Dari hasil analisis
hambatan total dari hasil modifikasi bentuk lambung X-bow dan Axe-bow didapatkan
hasil bentuk lambung X-bow dapat menurunkan hambatan total kapal sebesar 4.78%
dari bentuk lambung asli atau sekitar 8.91 kN, sedangkan bentuk lambung Axe-bow
sebesar 6.22% dari hambatan total kapal asli atau sekitar 12.01 kN. Dari sisi
seakeeping didapatkan hasil bahwa bentuk lambung Axe-bow memiliki nilai
maksimum heave dan pitch lebih kecil dari bentuk lambung asli. Sementara bentuk
lambung X-bow nilai maksimumnya justru lebih besar . Jadi dari segi hambatan dan
seakeeping bentuk lambung Axe-bow memiliki performa paling baik dari bentuk
lambung asli dan X-bow.

Self-Propelled Urea Barge (SPUB) Pusri Indoensia I owned by PT. Pusri
Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang is a kind of ship which has characteristics of full-bodied
hull and shallow draft. This ship is successfully operated with good enough
hydrodynamic performance. However this performace still need an improvement by
develop her hull form. The main factor that affect the ship performance particularly
ship resistance is ship hull form, especially the bow form. Therefore in this Thesis is
conducted the study of hull form improvement of self propelled barge into shape of
X-bow and Axe-bow to reduce the total resistance and improve the seakeeping
performace. Analysis of resistance and seakeeping conducted using CFD method.
From the resistance analysis by modified the hull form into X-bow can reduce the
resistance about 4.78% or 8.91 kN and Axe-bow hull form about 6.22% or 12.01 kN.
From the seakeeping analysis obtained results of maximum heave and pitch of Axebow
hull form less than existiting hull form and X-bow hull form greater than
existiting hull form instead. So, from this study in the resistance and seakeeping aspect
Axe-bow hull form has best performance than existing and X-bow hull form.
