Abstract

Industri tekstil dan produk tekstil merupakan industri yang cukup berkembang di Indonesia. Seiring dengan perkembangan industri tekstil yang terus meningkat produksi limbah industri tekstil pun juga ikut meningkat. Salah satu jenis limbah yang dihasilkan dari industri tekstil adalah limbah pewarna tekstil metilen biru (MB). Selain berbahaya bagi lingkungan, MB juga menimbulkan beberapa efek negatif pada manusia, sehingga diperlukan dekolorisasi MB yang efisien, dimana salah satunya menggunakan mikroorganisme. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan biodekolorisasi pewarna tekstil MB oleh bakteri Ralstonia pickettii. Dekolorisasi dilakukan pada media cair nutrient broth (NB) dengan konsentrasi MB 100 mg/L. Analisa dekolorisasi metilen biru dilakukan menggunakan instrumen UV-Vis dan LC-TOF/MS. Dari penelitian ini terbukti bahwa R. pickettii mampu mendekolorisasi MB 98% selama 18 jam proses dekolorisasi.

Textile industry and its product are advancing in Indonesia. Along with it, waste of textile industry is also increasing. Methylene blue (MB) is one of common textile dye in the textile industry. In addition to being harmful to the environment, MB also causes some serious effects to human such as cyanosis, hyperpyrexia dan many more. Therefore, it is necessary to find method to decolorize MB efficiently. In this research, biodecolorization of MB by Ralstonia pickettii was done. Decolorization was performed on nutrient broth medium (NB) with concentration of MB 100 mg/L. Degradation of MB was analyzed using UV-Vis and LC-TOF/MS instrument. As result, it is proven that R. pickettii was able to decolorize MB up until 98% during 18 hours of incubation process.
