Abstract
ABSTRAK
Unit desalinasi merupakan salah satu unit yang menghasilkan air untuk umpan boiler. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan observasi dan analisa untuk mengetahui performa unit desalinasi dengan Multi effect Evaporator (MEE) 24 tingkat dengan metode Multi Stage Flash (MSF) sekali lewat kapasitas 90 ton/jam dengan laju umpan air laut sebesar 770 ton/jam dan menggunakan uap bertekanan 3 kg/cm2G dari ceratan turbin yang bertemperatur 210oC sebagai sumber panasnya.
Kapasitas produksi dibawah 90 ton/jam dan laju umpan air laut kurang dari 770 ton/jam serta penurunan efisiensi unit desalinasi secara cepat yang ditandai dengan menurunnya produksi distilat dalam waktu singkat berdampak pada seringnya stop unit untuk proses pembersihan atau perawatan. Hasil evaluasi berdasarkan data operasi, jumlah distilat yang dihasilkan adalah 60 ton/jam sampai 74 ton/jam dengan laju air umpan 524 ton/jam sampai 605 ton/jam. Dari hasil perhitungan fouling faktor tiap stage evaporator dengan metode ε -NTU berdasarkan data desain diperoleh 0,0000327 m2K/w pada stage 1 sampai 0,00006 m2K/w pada stage 24. Untuk perhitungan fouling faktor tiap stage evaporator berdasarkan data operasi diperoleh 0,000077 m2K/w pada stage 1 sampai 0,000115 m2K/w pada stage 24.

ABSTRACT
The desalination unit is one of the units that produce water for the boiler feed. In this research, we have observed and analyzed to know the performance of desalination unit with Multi Effect Evaporator (MEE) 24 level with Once Through Multi Stage Flash (OT-MSF) capacity 90 ton/hour with sea water feed rate 770 ton/hour and using steam pressurized 3 kg/cm2G from a turbine spout with a temperature of 210 °C as the heat source.
Production capacity below 90 ton/hour and sea water feed rate less than 770 ton/hr and decreasing the efficiency of desalination unit rapidly marked by decreasing of distillate production in a short time impacted the frequent stop unit for cleaning or maintenance process. Based on the operational data, the number of distillates produced is 60 ton/h to 74 ton/h with feed water rate 524 ton/h to 605 ton/hr. From result of calculation of fouling factor of each evaporator stage with method ε -NTU based on design data obtained 0.0000327 m2K/w at stage 1 until 0.00006 m2K/w at stage 24. For calculation of fouling factor of each stage evaporator based on operation data obtained 0.000077 m2K/w on stage 1 to 0.000115 m2K/w on stage 24.
