Abstract
High pressure heater merupakan jaringan heat exchanger yang berfungsi untuk mengambil kembali panas dari fluida hasil proses untuk fluida bahan baku. Heat exchanger yang umum terdapat pada high pressure heat adalah jenis shell and tube. Performansi dari shell and tube heat exchanger dapat dilihat dari nilai overall heat transfer coefficient yang dihasilkan dari heat exchanger itu sendiri. Untuk meningkatkan nilai overall heat transfer coefficient dilakukan dengan mengubah arah aliran fluida di sisi shell dengan menggunakan baffle. Segmental baffle membuat arah aliran fluida pada shell menjadi zig zag ketika melintasi tube bundle sehingga nilai overall heat transfer coefficient akan meningkat, namun pressure drop juga akan meningkat karena fluida berubah arah dengan menabrak baffle itu sendiri. Untuk itu dilakukan optimisasi desain dengan mengubah dari segmental baffle menjadi helical baffle agar didapatkan nilai overall heat transfer coefficient yang tinggi dan shell pressure drop yang rendah. Dari hasil optimisasi yang telah dilakukan didapatkan overall heat transfer coefficient meningkat dengan rata-rata sebesar 15.15% atau 327.9780 (W/m².K) dengan metode GA dan 37.6% atau 426.827 (W/m².K) untuk metode duelistdan shell pressure drop berkurang dengan perbedaan sebesar -13% atau -0.3006 Psi untuk metode GA dan -37.6% atau -0.012656 Psi untuk Duelist.

High pressure heater is a heat exchanger network which function to recover heat from processed fluids for raw material fluids. Heat exchanger which is commonly found in high pressure heat is a type of shell and tube. Performance of the shell and tube heat exchanger can be seen from the value of overall heat transfer coefficient produced from the heat exchanger itself. To increase the value of overall heat transfer coefficient is done by changing the direction of fluid flow on the shell side by using baffle. Segmental baffles make the direction of the fluid flow in the shell to zig zag when crossing the tube bundle so that the overall heat transfer coefficient value will increase, but the pressure drop will also increase as the fluid changes direction by crashing the baffle itself. Therefore, design optimization is done by changing from segmental baffle to helical baffle to get the high value of heat transfer coefficient and lower shell pressure drop. From the results of the optimization that has been done it was found overall heat transfer coefficient increased with the average 15.15% or 327.9780 (W/m².K) with GA and 37.6% or 426.827 (W/m².K) with duelist and shell pressure drop decrease into the average -13% or -0.3006 Psi with GA and 37.6% or 0.012656 Psi with Duelist.
