Abstract

Alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica (L.) Beauv.),
Selanjutnya
proses sakarifikasi menggunakan enzim StargenTM 002 (no cook),
lalu fermentasi dengan menambahkan urea, NPK, serta
Saccharomyces cereviseae.
Dari hasil ini diperoleh bahwa alang-alang yang
difermentasi terbukti mampu menghasilkan ethanol sebanyak 600
ml konsentrasi 93% dari hasil destilasi. Ethanol konsentrasi 93%
viii
didih didapati bahwa ethanol pada konsentrasi 93% adalah
perlakuan terbaik untuk bahan bakar kompor bioetanol.

Cogongrass (Imperata cylindrica (L.) Beauv.), was a
disrupter plant on the rice, sugar cane, or even corn. However,
this plant is contained cellulose material that can be converted
into simple sugars, thus bioethanol might be produced.
This research aimed to understand the effectiveness of
bioethanol derived from cogongrass raw materials toward boiling
and cooking time for bioethanol burning stove. Bioethanol at
concentration 70%, 90% and 93% were as the variation of
treatment to obtain effective bioethanol as fuel for bioethanol
stove.
On this research pretreatment process conducted
mechanically, physically and chemically beforehand by means of
a place to spread, milling and soaking by NaOH. The process of
saccharification used StargenTM 002 (no cook enzyme) then
fermented by Saccharomyces cereviseae with urea, NPK, as well
as fertilizer.
This result obtained that cogongrass had proven it able to
produce 600 ml ethanol at concentrations 93% of from the
distillation results. Ethanol concentration 93% had diluted into
the concentration of 70% and 90%. Results informed from the
burning on the bioethanol stove through observation at the
boiling and cooking time, it gave us data that burning ethanol at
x
concentrations 93% was the best treatment for bioethanol stove
