Abstract

Sistem proteksi tenaga listrik memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam
menjamin kontinuitas proses produksi pada suatu industri. Namun,
seiring berjalannya waktu maka tingkat keandalan dari peralatan sistem
proteksi akan semakin menurun dan perlu diperbarui. PT. Pertamina RU
III Plaju memiliki sistem proteksi eksisting yang sudah tua sehingga
sering terjadi malfunction. Oleh karena itu, direncanakan melakukan
penggantian peralatan proteksi untuk meningkatkan keandalan sistem
proteksi sehingga kontinuitas proses produksi tetap optimal. Pada setting
rele eksisting hanya ada setting invers saja, sehingga saat melakukan
penggantian rele diperlukan studi koordinasi proteksi untuk
mendapatkan setting yang sesuai. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut,
maka tugas akhir ini difokuskan pada studi koordinasi proteksi untuk
mengetahui setting rele yang tepat setelah penggantian peralatan sistem
proteksi di PT. Pertamina RU III Plaju. Dalam melakukan koordinasi
proteksi diperlukan analisis aliran daya dan hubung singkat. Grading
time antar rele diatur sesuai standar IEEE 242 yaitu 0,2 s/d 0,3 s dan
time delay dikoordinasikan sehingga rele tersebut dapat bekerja dengan
benar. Hasil koordinasi proteksi ini dapat melindungi dari gangguan
berupa beban lebih dan hubung singkat.

Electric power protection system has a very important role in ensuring
continuity in an industrial production process. However, over time the
level of reliability of the equipment protection system will decrease and
need to be updated. PT. Pertamina RU III Plaju have existing protection
systems which are old so often malfunction occurs. Therefore, the
planned replacement of protective equipment to improve the reliability
of the protection system so that the continuity of the production process
remains optimal. In the existing relay settings only inverse setting only,
so while doing the replacement of relay, protection coordination studies
is needed to get the appropriate settings. In connection with this, the
final project is focused on protection coordination studies to determine
the proper relay settings after replacement protection system equipment
in PT. Pertamina RU III Plaju. The coordination of protection required
power flow and short circuit analysis. Grading time between relay set
according to the IEEE 242 standard is 0.2 to 0.3 s and the time delay
can be coordinated so that the relay is working correctly. The
coordination of this protection can protect from fault in the form of
overload and short circuit.
