Abstract
Indonesia energy consumption has increased rapidly since the early 2000s. Energy consumption grows by average 4.2% per year over the last 15 years. The demand for electricity is increasing day by day leading to some problems such as environmental pollution and depletion of fossil sources. For solving these basic energy problems, conventional network turns to smart grids structure. Home power management system (HPMS) is one of the most important applications of smart grids. With central management of residential power consumption provides energy saving.
In this bachelor thesis, HPMS is proposed to minimize the electricity cost. The system is composed of smart electrical appliances, power units (grid and photovoltaic system with energy storage), the main controller, web application, and communication network. At the beginning of the day, the main controller gathers user request dan electrical price from the grid and solve a mixed integer linear programming problem that formulated with the smart and energy efficient operation constraints defined for the appliance, electrical price, and power units.
The solution to this problem provides cost minimizing schedules of power resources. Simulation and experiments result is demonstrated that the proposed HPMS can reduce the electrical cost by 30% up to 80%. =========== Konsumsi energi Indonesia meningkat pesat sejak awal 2000-an. Konsumsi energi tumbuh rata-rata 4,2% per tahun selama 15 tahun terakhir. Permintaan energi listrik yang meningkat menyebabkan beberapa masalah seperti pencemaran lingkungan dan menipisnya sumber-sumber energi fosil. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, jaringan konvensional mulai bertransformasi menjadi smart grid. Home power management system (HPMS) adalah salah satu aplikasi yang paling penting dari smart grid. Dengan manajemen yang terpusat konsumsi energi listrik sektro rumah tangga dapat dihemat.
Dalam tugas akhir ini, HPMS yang diusulkan bertujuan untuk meminimalkan biaya energi listrik. Sistem ini terdiri smart electrical appliances, power units (grid and photovoltaic system with energy storage), main controller, web application, and communication network. Pada permulaan hari, main controller akan mengumpulkan jadwal yang atur pengguna dan harga listrik dari grid dan PV. Sitem akan memecahkan masalah mixed integer linear prograaming yang dirumuskan dengan batasan operasi yang yang ditentukan untuk peralatan listrik, harga listrik, dan power resources.
Solusi dari tugas akhir ini menyediakan rekomendasi jadwal sumber daya listrik dengan biaya yang. Hasil simulasi dan eksperimen adalah telah menunjukkan bahwa HPMS yang diusulkan dapat mengurangi biaya listrik 30-80%.
