Abstract

The products that are produced out of oil and gas are still one of the human's main dependence in this era. That results to the intensive business of oil and gas exploration and exploitation, including in shallow waters to the deep sea. To distribute it, one of the means of transportation used is by distributing it thorugh a pipeline. The pipeline network must be designed to be strong and stable. If the pipeline fails, enormous economic and environmental losses could be the consequences. Therefore, some major analysis is needed and one of them is the On-Bottom Stability analysis. On-Bottom Stability Analysis aims to determine the minimum weight of the pipe to be stable on the seabed. Currently, there is a company working on a project located in the Makassar Strait area. The pipeline will be placed at a depth of 100 m to 1426 m below sea level. The purpose of this final project is to analyze the On-Bottom Stability for the pipeline of the project to avoid the occurrence of failure that can cause losses for the company. The writer's method is by literature study and literature review, data collection, weight calculation, environmental load calculation using JONSWAP spectrum, On-Bottom Stability calculation using DNVGL RP F109, force calculation and safety factor, analyzing the result and drawing conclusion. Based on the analysis, when the pipeline is empty or in the operational condition, at 100 m or 1426 m depth, the pipeline is stable vertically and laterally.
