Abstract
Kabupaten Sleman sedang mengalami perkembangan yang sangat pesat dan menjadi salah satu kota satelit Yogyakarta. Permintaan kebutuhan hunian terus meningkat, yang akan berdampak pada kecenderungan developer untuk membangun perumahan secara besar-besaran. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan ketersediaan lahan untuk pemukiman semakin berkurang dan menjadi terbatas, sehingga perlu adanya peralihan hunian dari landed house ke hunian vertikal guna mengatasi keterbatasan lahan tersebut. Di sisi lain, pertumbuhan masyarakat ke arah hunian vertikal memberikan berbagai efek samping, salah satunya adalah kurangnya kualitas interaksi sosial antar penghuni di dalamnya. Pembangunan hunian vertikal saat ini sedikit memberikan fasilitas hunian bersama atau ruang komunal sehingga menciptakan hunian dengan gaya hidup individualistik. Hal tersebut tidak sesuai dengan kebudayaan dan tradisi masyarakat Sleman yang kental dengan keramahan dan interaksi sosialnya.
Dengan menggunakan metode dan pendekatan Behavioral Architecture maka akan diperoleh beberapa faktor penyebab dan solusi desain terkait dengan isu-isu kurangnya interaksi sosial di masyarakat yang secara perlahan tapi pasti akan mengikis nilai- nilai kebudayaan bangsa dan kearifan lokal yang telah lama dimiliki oleh bangsa Indonesia.
Dari permasalahan yang diperoleh maka pembangunan hunian vertikal seperti Low Rise Apartment dengan penekanan pada pembentukan kembali interaksi sosial antar penghuni dan kegiatan-kegiatan komunal dapat menjadi sebuah peluang yang bermanfaat dalam membentuk hunian vertikal yang lebih baik di Kabupaten Sleman.

Sleman is doing a very rapid development and become one of the satellite city of Yogyakarta. The need for occupancy continues to increase, which will have an impact on developers to build large-scale. The things needed to accelerate and be limited, you need to do the transition housing from the house inhabited to the occupancy of vertical land use. On the other hand, the growth of the community toward vertical housing provides various side effects, one of which is the low quality of interaction among the inhabitants in it. Vertical residential development currently provides little shared facilities or communal spaces. It is not in accordance with indigenous peoples and customs that are thick with their privacy and social interaction.
By using Behavioral Architecture method and approach it will get some factors related to issues that will erode the nation's values and local wisdom that has long been owned by the Indonesian nation.
From the poverty to be gained then residential development such as Low Rise Apartments by re-enacting social interactions between occupants and communal activities can be a useful opportunity in the form of better vertical dwellings in Sleman District.
