Abstract
Pada dekade ini, banyak peneliti yang mulai menaruh perhatian besar di bidang energi baru dan terbarukan (EBT) karena menipisnya cadangan energi konvensional. Salah satu penerapan EBT yang dikembangkan adalah photovoltaic (PV), namun pemanfaatannya masih kurang karena konversi yang dihasilkan modul PV masih belum maksimal. Oleh karena itu dirancang sistem Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) pada passive two axis solar tracker berbasis Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). Sistem ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan daya output dari PV fixed, karena MPPT dapat mempertahankan output PV pada titik maksimumnya dan kontrol Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) ini memiliki kecepatan konvergensi yang cepat. Simulasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil output PV fixed dan solar tracker menggunakan kontrol ACO. Solar tracker dengan menggunakan MPPT berbasis ACO dapat meningkatkan performansi atau unjuk kerja energi yang dihasilkan hingga 13,23% dengan nilai energi PV fixed dan solar tracker sebesar 110,59 Wh dan 124,23 Wh pada pukul 13:00 WIB. Sedangkan peningkatan daya rata-rata sebesar 11,49% dihitung selama 11 jam.

In this decade, many researchers are starting to pay great attention in the field of new and renewable energy (EBT) due to depletion of conventional energy reserves. One of the developed application of EBT is photovoltaic (PV), but its utilization is not maximum enough because of the ability of PV modul to track the solar energy is not maximum. So, the writer designed a system of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) on passive two axis solar tracker based on the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). The system is expected to increase the output power of fixed PV, because MPPT can maintain PV output at its maximum point and the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) control has a fast convergence speed. The simulation is done by comparing the output of fixed PV and solar tracker using ACO control. The results obtained, solar tracker with MPPT-based ACO control can increase the energy performance up to 13,28% with the energy’s value of PV fixed and solar tracker are 110,59 Wh dan 125,23 Wh respectively. The average value of increased work is 11,49%
