Abstract

Submarines are ships that move beneath the surface of the water, commonly used as military interests. In addition to military interests, submarines are also commonly used for marine science whose depth is not suitable for human divers. While the submarine is underwater, the battery will be the main source of power for submarines, both for propulsion and hotel load. In this research will be done optimizer, management of the battery when the submarine operates. Next will be designed also general arrangement than mini submarine and subsequently designing electrical system on mini submarine.
Battery management is done so that the battery can last longer and no problem during operation because battery is a vital requirement. Battery Monitoring consists of measuring different battery parameters such as charge and discharge currents, cell voltage, resistance and temperature allowing predictions of remaining battery capacity. Important battery parameters such as state-of-charge (SOC), state-of-health (SOH) or state-of-function (SOF).
From the results of this research, it is known that there are four conditions of operation mini submarine that is the condition when snort, cruising, silent run and escape. In each condition, the total power required is 107,026 kW, 112,496 kW, 109,108 kW and 506,176 kW
