Abstract
====================================================================================================================Since 2002, East Timor's relations with Indonesia have improved considerably. This is evidenced by the increasing number of collaborations between the two countries. In 2013 the Governments of East Timor and Indonesia agreed to provide land for the Indonesian Cultural Center (ICC) in Dili, East Timor. With the presence of ICC, it is hoped that diplomacy through culture will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
Indonesian Cultural Center in Dili, East Timor is Indonesia's first Indonesian Cultural Center. The main ICC activities will be as a cultural and public information center with library services featuring books about Indonesia, as well as accommodating workshops, seminars / discussions, dance and cultural arts training, songs, music, both traditional and modern film and theater, culinary, and Indonesian course.
The methods used in this paper includes object identification, problem identification, literature study, and object comparison. The method by comparing objects is done because the desired object to be designed is a rare case. By comparing objects with equivalent objects then the author will get a picture of the object to be designed.
The concept to be applied at the Indonesian Cultural Center is to create an atmosphere that is comfortable and not monotonous. Contemporary concept is chosen because it is more flexible also always updated. Contemporary concept will be combined with the feel of locality. Locality here includes the culture of East Timor and Indonesian locality as a whole.
