Abstract
Pengeboran merupakan suatu kegiatan melubangi permukaan tanah untuk mendapatkan sumber air, gas atau minyak. Untuk menunjang proses pengeboran, terdapat beberapa sistem yaitu sistem tenaga, sistem pengangkat, sistem pemutar, sistem sirkulasi lumpur dan sistem pencegahan semburan. Sistem sirkulasi lumpur merupakan proses pengaliran lumpur pengeboran dari peralatan sirkulasi lumpur menuju rangkaian pipa bor. Lumpur pengeboran dapat berfungsi sebagai penahan fluida formasi (tekanan formasi). Saat proses pengeboran, lumpur yang dihasilkan harus sesuai dengan volume lubang pengeboran agar tidak terjadi kelebihan atau kekurangan lumpur pada saat proses berlangsung, sehingga tekanan formasi yang terdapat dalam bumi dapat ditahan.
Pada penelitian ini membuat suatu alat yang dapat mengukur volume lumpur pada mud tank agar diperoleh volume lumpur sesuai dengan yang dibutuhkan. Alat ini terdiri dari sensor pelampung yang diintegrasikan dengan mikrokontroler ATmega16, serta Human Machine Interface (HMI) sebagai monitoring keadaan volume lumpur.
Setelah melakukan pengujian, sistem monitoring volume lumpur telah mampu mengukur ketinggian dan volume lumpur dengan tingkat keakuratan sebesar ± 99,15 %. Dari hasil tersebut, kesalahan pengukuran volume lumpur pada mudtank yang digunakan saat proses pengeboran berlangsung dapat terminimalisasi.

Drilling is a hole in the ground to get a source of water, gas or oil. To support the drilling process, there are several systems: power system, lifting system, rotating system, mud circulation system and blow prevention system. The mud circulation system is a drilling mud drilling process from the mud flow equipment to the drill pipe line. Drilling mud can serve as a formation fluid holder (formation pressure). During the drilling process, the resulting sludge must be in accordance with the volume of the drill holes to avoid excess or shortage of sludge during the process, so that formation pressures within the earth can be retained.
In this study, a tool that can measure the volume of mud in mud tanks to obtain the volume of mud in accordance with the required. This tool consists of a buoy sensor that is integrated with ATmega16 microcontroller, and Human Machine Interface as monitoring the state of mud volumes.
After conducting the test, the mud volume monitoring system has been able to measure the height and volume of the mud with an accuracy level of ± 99,15%. From these results, the measurement error of the sludge volume in mudtank used during the drilling process can be minimized.
