Abstract

Azimuth podded propeller adalah salah satu jenis varian dari sistem propulusi kapal. Podded propeller merupakan body propeller yang menjadi kesatuan dari system propeller tersebut. Podded ini berguna sebagai konstruksi yang menggabungkan engine dan propeller. Podded harus dibuat sebaik mungkin agar tahanan yang dihasilkan oleh propeller adalah tahanan paling minimum. Propeller ini banyak digunakan pada kapal-kapal yang memerlukan kemampuan bermanuver yang lebih. Penilitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode CFD dan memanfaatkan software ANSYS. Dengan tujuan mengetahui hubungan antara variasi podded propeller dengan aliran fluida dan gaya gesek.

Azimuth podded propeller is one type of system propulusi ship variants. Podded propeller is a propeller body into the unity of the propeller systems. Podded used for construction that combines engine and propeller. Podded should be made as possible in order to resistance produced by the propeller is the minimum resistance. Propeller is used on boats that require more maneuverability. This research is done using the CFD method and utilize software ANSYS. This research useful to know the relationship between the variation of podded propeller with fluid flow and friction.
