Abstract

Penggunaan logam pada konstruksi tidak terbatas hanya
untuk tiang, pipa tetapi dapat juga untuk rangka atap bangunan
dengan penggunaan material galvalume. Galvalume atau sering
disebut zinc-alumunium adalah baja ringan yang diberi coating seng
(zinc) sebesar 43,5%,alumunium 55% dan silicon 1,5%. Penelitian
ini mempelajari pengaruh beban pada karakteristik korosi dan
pengaruh lingkungan pada kinerja baja Galvalume.Dari latar
belakang diatas maka dalam penelitian ini menggunakan media air
ledeng, NaCl 3%, NaCl 5% dengan variasi beban 0 gram dan 200
gram. Maka laju korosi dapat dianalisa dengan metode yaitu metode
weight loss (Immers dan Salt Spray) yang dilakukan selama 50 hari
dengan menghitung laju korosi pada hari ke-10, hari ke-20,hari ke-
30, hari ke-40, hari ke-50.Laju korosi tertinggi terjadi pada NaCl
3% dengan penambahan beban (200 gram) sebesar 2,172 Mpy
selama 50 hari. Laju korosi juga dideteksi dengan uji
Polarisasi.Pengujian X-ray Diffraction (XRD) dan pengujian makro
untuk pengamatan SEM yang menerangkan diatas. Dari pengujian
yang dilakukan sehingga laju korosi cenderung meningkat karena
penambahan beban dan semakin lamanya waktu cenderung laju
korosi semakin turun. Korosi NaCl 3% laju korosi paling tinggi dari
air ledeng dan NaCl 5%. Dari XRD ditemukannya produk korosi
yaitu Zn(OH)2,Al2O3,Al(OH)3. Dari karakteristik korosi didapatkan
senyawa Al yang berwarna putih dan Zn yang berwarna hitam.

The uses of steels on construction are not limited as rods,
and pipes but also as roof trusses by adding galvalume layer.
Galvalume or commonly known as zinc-aluminum alloy is a lightweight
metal used as coating with composition of zinc 43,5%,
aluminum 55% and silicon 1.5%. This research studied the effects of
load on the corrosion characteristics and the effects the environment
on the work of galvalume steel. As been said above, this research
used tap water, NaCl 3%, NaCl 5% as medium withvarying load of 0
gram and 200 grams. Corrosion rate would then be analyzed using
weight loss method (immersed and salt sprayed) which conducted for
50 days, and calculated at day-10, day-20, day-30, day -40, and day-
50. The highest corrosion rate occurred in NaCl 3% with given load
at 200 grams, which is 2.172 mpy for 50 days. The corrosion rate
was also detected by polarization testing, X-ray Diffraction (XRD)
tests, and macro tests for SEM observation. From the tests
conducted, the corrosion rate increased along with the increase in
load, while the corrosion rate tended to decreased as the time went
by. The corrosion occurred in NaCl3% was the most severe than that
in tap water and NaCl 5%. XRD tests resulted, corrosion products
found were Zn(OH)2,Al2O3,Al(OH)3. Throughthe characterization
of the corrosion, the black color represented the Zn, and the white
color represented the Al.
