Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a large population. According to BPS (2013) Indonesia's population is likely to increase from year to year, so it can become an obstacle to the success of development if the increase in population uncontrolled. One of the government efforts to control the population growth rate is through the family planning program . One of the indicators that can be used to measure the success of family planning programs is the Total Fertility Rate (TFR). Factors that influence the TFR, the majority have a certain pattern (parametric) and some do not have a specific pattern (nonparametric) so that the modeling was conducted using semiparametric regression spline. This study uses spline approach with optimum knots point obtained from Generalized Cross Validation (GCV) method. Based on the analysis results obtained factors that significantly influence the TFR among others, the percentage desire birth control after having 2 children (X1), the percentage of Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR) (X3), and the percentage of media access message KB (X4). Semiparametric regression model spline formed have R2
