Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam beberapa pengujian antara lain pengujian marshall yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik dari campuran perkerasan agregat buatan dengan menggunakan gradasi rapat yang mengacu pada spesifikasi gradasi Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) dan gradasi terbuka oleh Béton Bitumineux Aéronautiques (BBA) dengan syarat spesifikasi dan karakteristik yang sesuai untuk perkerasan runway bandara, kemudian dilakukan pengujian perendaman untuk mengetahui ketahanan campuran perkerasan terhadap kerusakan yang disebabkan oleh air, serta mengetahui kinerja kelelahan (fatigue) pada campuran perkerasan agregat buatan gradasi terbuka dengan metode pengujian Indirect tensile fatigue test (ITFT) menggukan alat UTM30 Dynapave.
Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pada kadar aspal optimum campuran gradasi rapat memiliki nilai KAO yang lebih rendah yaitu 5.1% dibanding nilai KAO pada campuran aspal dengan gradasi terbuka yaitu sebesar 6.1%. Karakteristik marshall pada kedua campuran memiliki nilai yang memenuhi syarat spesifikasi Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) dan Kemenhub. Hasil pengujian perendaman menunjukkan pengaruh air terhadap ketahanan campuran (durabilitas) dengan nilai IKS sebesar 96.23% untuk gradasi rapat dan 93.06% untuk gradasi terbuka. Hasil pengujian kelelahan (fatigue) dengan ITFT menunjukkan bahwa Hasil pengujian kelelahan (fatigue) dengan ITFT menunjukkan bahwa pada campuran aspal gradasi terbuka BBA, keruntuhan pada spesimen dengan stress level 450, 500, 550 dan 600 kPa masing- masing terjadi pada 23025, 4641, 2351, dan 541 cycles hingga campuran perkerasan mengalami keruntuhan (failure). Dapat diketahui bahwa semakin lama target suatu perkerasan runtuh atau semakin tinggi nilai umur kelelahan, maka semakin kecil kemampuan material dapat menahan regangan. Berdasarkan nilai keruntuhan tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa campuran perkerasan dengan agregat buatan bergradasi terbuka (BBA) dapat digunakan hanya pada landasan pacu bandara berskala kecil atau landasan pacu pada bandara yang hanya melayani jenis pesawat dengan klasifikasi pesawat kecil.

This research was carried out in several tests including testing Marshall which aims to determine the characteristics of artificial aggregate pavement mixtures using dense graded which refers to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) gradation specifications and open graded by Beton Bitumineux Aéronautiques (BBA) with the requirement specifications and the appropriate characteristics for pavement runway airport, then testing of immersion to find the resistance of a mix of pavement against damage caused by water, and to know performance of fatigue in an asphalt mixture with artificial aggregate used open graded with the testing method of Indirect tensile fatigue test (ITFT) uses the UTM30 Dynapave tools.
The results obtained showed that at optimum bitumen content (KAO) the mixture of dense graded had a lower KAO value of 5.1% compared to the KAO value in the asphalt mixture with open graded of 6.1%. Characteristics Marshall in the two type of mixtures have values that meet the specifications of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub). The immersion test results show the effect of water on resistance of mixtures (durability) with an IKS value of 96.23% for dense graded and 93.06% for open graded. The test results of fatigue with ITFT indicate that the asphalt mixture with open graded BBA at a stress level of 450 kPa, 500 kPa, 550 kPa and 600 kPa required number of repetitions load as many as 23025, 4641, 2351, and 541 times until the asphalt mixture have to failure. It can be seen that the longer the target of a pavement failure or the higher the fatigue life value, the smaller the ability of the material can hold strain. Based on the number of cycle to failure, it can be concluded that the mixture of artificial aggregate with open graded (BBA) can be used only on small-scale airport runways or runways at airports that only serve aircraft types with small aircraft classifications.
