Abstract

Sejak tahun 2017, Gedung Cagar Budaya Siola Surabaya telah beralih fungsi sebagai Mal Pelayanan Publik sebagai bentuk peningkatan kualitas pelayanan publik oleh Pemerintah Kota Surabaya kepada masyarakat yang hendak mengurus perizinan. Mal Pelayanan Publik Surabaya merupakan Mal Pelayanan Publik pertama dan salah satu yang terbaik di Indonesia, bersama dengan Kota Batam, Provonsi DKI Jakarta dan Kota Denpasar. Hal tersebut merupakan peluang bagi Pemerintah Kota Surabaya untuk mengingkatkan citra Kota Surabaya dengan melakukan peningkatan kualitas mal pelayanan publik, salah satunya lewat desain furnitur area pelayanannya. Melalui metode pendekatan terhadap kebutuhan, aktivitas serta sirkulasi pengguna, penulis melakukan riset mengenai desain dan konfigurasi set furnitur untuk area pelayanan UPTSA yang mencangkup kursi tunggu, kursi kerja petugas, meja informasi, meja customer service, meja self-service, meja kerja petugas, sofa, signage system, tempat sampah, serta envelope ruangan yang sesuai dengan karakteristik Kota Surabaya.

Since 2017, the cultural heritage building Siola Surabaya has been turned into
public service hall by Surabaya City Government in order to increase the quality of
service to the citizen who want to propose or take care of government-related
licensings. Surabaya Public Service Hall is the first and one of the best public
service halls in Indonesia, together with Batam, Jakarta and Denpasar. This
condition is an opportunity for Surabaya City Government to escalate the image of
Surabaya City through enhancement of the service quality in Surabaya Public
Service Hall, one of them is by designing the furniture system in service area.
Through the aproach of user’s needs, activities, and circulation method, writer
developed design and configuration of the furniture in the service area which
includes: waiting chairs, working chairs, information centre desk, customer service
counters, self service desks, working desks, pedestals, signage system, and room
envelope that suitable with the characteristic of Surabaya City.
