Abstract

Sintesis ZSM-5 dari kaolin Bangka dan abu sekam padi telah dilakukan dengan metode hidrotermal. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan variasi komposisi molar SiO2 untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari rasio Si/Al terhadap sintesis ZSM-5 pada variasi waktu hidrotermal 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, dan 48 jam. Sintesis ini dilakukan dengan komposisi molar 10Na2O : XSiO2 : 2Al2O3 : 2000H2O : 20TPAOH, dimana X=50, 75, dan 100. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa rasio Si/Al mempengaruhi kristalinitas ZSM-5 dan pembentukan fasa analsim sebagai pengotor. Kristalinitas ZSM-5 optimum sebesar 49,5% didapatkan dari rasio Si/Al = 37,5. Intensitas fasa analsim minimum didapatkan dari sampel dengan rasio Si/Al = 50.

The synthesis of ZSM-5 from kaolin Bangka and rice husk ash had been carried out by hydrothermal method. In this research, the variation molar composition of SiO2 was used to determine the effect of Si/Al ratio on the synthesis of ZSM-5 with variations of hydrothermal time 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, and 48 hours. ZSM-5 synthesized with molar composition 10Na2O: XSiO2: 2Al2O3: 2000H2O: 20TPAOH, where X = 50, 75, and 100. The results showed that ratio of Si/Al affected the crystallinity of ZSM-5 and the formation of analcime phase as an impurity. Samples that had the highest ZSM-5 crystallinity of 49,5% was obtained from the Si/Al ratio = 37,5. The lowest intensity of analcime was obtained from the sample with a Si/Al ratio = 50.
